INSPECTORATE

The Inspectorate section is responsible for:

Control of production

Advising growers on cultural practices, post-harvest techniques, new technologies, chemicals etc

Inspection of imported tobacco and tobacco products (cigarettes,  cigars, pipe tobacco, etc..)

Key Benefits

Maintain good communication links between research and tobacco growers.

The requirements of the Manufacturer are met.

Enable tobacco growers to cut down cost through mechanisation and best practices.

Only cigarettes fit for consumption, in authorised quantities, and in packs bearing  approved health warning(s) are imported and sold on the local market.
